lost mine, devastating. So I bought a replacement as quickly as I could! I had a Oral-B vitality from the supermarket. If you asked me was electric better then manual. I would of said a little bit, maybe. Then my partner got a deal on two handles, 1 charger and whoa. My teeth were never cleaner, never whiter. I'm sure it will save me a lot of money at the dentists. Then I lost it at a motel. Back to manual (no way) So i ordered a new one and anxiously waited the arrival of my parcel. The guide is not really necessary, yes the battery takes a long time to charge, but it's totally waterproof and I suspect that is the reason. But really, what's your toothbrush doing whilst your at work. That's right sitting on the charger. It's not like it's a phone that needs to travel with you. When I travel I get nearly 2 weeks use out of a full charge. The chargers is small you could take it with you if travelling more then 10 days. negative's; - I think it's too pricy and the replacement heads too. (I still bought one though they are very good, an electric motor, battery and silicon chips shouldn't cost that much even if you build in development costs, etc) - Would like an easy button to change daylight savings time on the clock. - If 2 people brush at the same time, the guide isn't really built to handle it. Though it does recognise 2 different burshes. I suppose which one do you display( it flickers between them really quickly). 18 November 2014
2 dead units in 2 weeks I'm not sure why but I have just had my second iq5000 stop working ( no lights - no activity - just dead) within a week of unboxing. I purchased it on the advice of my dentist - described as the Rolls Royce of toothbrushes. The toothbrush is great when it is working, it is just inconvenient to have to go back to town (I live in the country) just to get another one. Fortunately it comes with a 2 year warranty and my local store is very helpful with replacements. Perhaps I have a dud batch. 1 July 2014
Why nimh battery instead of Lithum ion? When fully charged the toothbrush is great. What I can't understand is why is the battery only a Nickel Metal hydride that you need to let fully drain before recharging instead of a Lithum ion battery that you can top up charge like in smart phones? This is suppose to be a high end eletric toothbrush. Also the battery takes at least 24 hours to recharge from fully drained. 7 April 2014
Doesn't Charge out of the box Just got a brand new 5000, and the unit doesn't charge. I have tried multiple outlets, my partner has a Oral-B sensitive charging unit and that doesn't charge the handle either. Very disappointed as have always bought the manual toothbrushes from Oral-B, I finally make the leap to an electronic one, on recommendations of friends and family, and only get disappointment. Back to the trusty old manual brushes for me. 5 August 2013
